Make Scale Models of The Planets
Grades 4-12, One to Two Days
To show how the planets compare in size.
Students make two-dimensional models of each planet by cutting out different-sized paper circles according to a chart that shows the planets' actual and scaled diameters.
- The planets are much smaller than the sun.
- The inner planets are much smaller than the outer planets, with the exception of Pluto.
