MARS CLIMATE ORBITER MISSION STATUSDecember 30, 1998
4:00 P.M. (PST)
Mars Climate Orbiter continues to perform well in its early cruise configuration. Playback of the MARs Color Imager (MARCI) data remaining onboard the spacecraft following last week's instrument checkout activity was successfully completed earlier today. Preparation and testing of the orbiter's second "housekeeping" sequence will begin in early January, following the initial post-launch support and checkout of MCO's sister spacecraft, the Mars Polar Lander.
